Kcr =Lagad Pati...

The present burning issue in the state and central government India. The separation of small states. The main reason behind the separation is the decision of Central Government declared by Mr.P.Chidambaram in favor to Telangana. If Telanagana is separated then the other major regions of Andhra Pradesh also want coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema separately. There are two new issues started namely 'Jai Andhra' and 'Greater Rayalaseema'.

Will the Andhra Pradesh be separated like this?
Separation of Andhra Pradesh

Many of the coastal and Andhra members are not in favor to the separation of Telangana. If at all the government declares separation then the separation of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema is also demanded.

Potti Sreeramulu
The above picture is of the great legend 'Potti Sreeramulu', a Gandhian follower fasted unto death for 58 days for the formation of our state Andhra Pradesh. What if Andhra Pradesh gets divided. Where do people sing this song?
In Telangana?
In Coastal Andhra?
In Rayalaseema?

In English -

maa telugu thalliki mallepoodanda,
maa kannathalliki mangalarathulu,
kadupulo bangaru kanchoopulo karuna,
chirunavvulo sirilu doralinchu mathalli.
galagalaa godaari kadilipothuntenu
birabiraakrishnamma paruguriluthenu
bangaru pantale panduthayee
muripaala muthyalu dorulutai.
amaravathinagara apuroopa shilpalu
thyagayya gonthulo tharadu nadhalu
thikkayya kalamulo thiyyamdanalu
nithyamai nikhilamai nilachi vundedaaka
rudramma bhujashakthi mallamma pathibhakthi
thimmarasu dheeyukthi,krishnarayala keerthi
maa chevulu ringumani maarumrogedaaka
nee aatale aadutham,neepaatale paaduthaam
jai telugu thalli,jai telugu thalli......

Because this is a linguistic state and so this song dedicates to complete Telugu region.

History of Telangana

'Telangana', means a land of telugus. This region is one of the major parts of the state Andhra Pradesh in the Southern India. In the year 1953, according to the former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru the states of India were divided linguistically. There was a commission appointed for this division of linguistic states which was named as Fazal Ali Commission. Then by the year 1955 the commission recommended on reorganization of states. Here the situation was not in favor of merging Telangana with Andhra Pradesh due to many reasons. The States Reorganization Commission (SRC) was not in favor of merging the Telangana region with the then Andhra state. The central government decided to ignore the SRC recommendations and established unified Andhra Pradesh on November 1, 1956.

Geographic Conditions of Telangana

Telangana is one of the three major regions of Andhra Pradesh. This Telangana region does not have as much fertility in the land as coastal region though it is the largest in the area when compared to coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema.

There are two rivers flowing through this region Godavari and Krishna. Godavari is flowing in the North region and Krishna in South region. There are also some small water sources like Bhima, Dindi, Kinnerasani, Manjira, Penganga, Manair, Praanahita, Peedavagu and Taliperu.

Telangana state movements from past to present

1969 Movement – The earliest movement started for division of Andhra Pradesh with the dissatisfaction of merging

After the formation of Andhra Pradesh in the later years there were many unsatisfactory issues made by the people for merging the two regions. Government employees and opposition members of the state legislative assembly supported the students of Osmania University against this merging. This movement, also known as Telangana movement, led to widespread violence and deaths of hundreds of people and students of this Telangana region. Approximately 360 students gave their lives in this movement.

My question here is(read the following paragraph)
Andhra Pradesh was formed in 1956. People in coastal Andhra, Rayalseema and Telangana speak the same language. So why did the movement for a separate Telangana start 15 years later?

1990-2004 Movements

Later this issue got into a very pace when Bharatiya Janatha Party (BJP) had promised to offer a separate state if it comes into the power. As BJP promised separated states like Jarkhand, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand in the year 2000. Coming to Telangana issue the ruling party TDP(Telugu Desam Party) opposed this separation. Then formed the separate party for Telangana named 'Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS). This includes many Telangana region MLAs and leaded by K ChandraShekar Rao (popularly known as KCR).

TRS

2004-2009 Movements

In 2004, The TRS supported the Congress party for the elections. Here Congress promised to get a separate state Telangana as they will be in the power. But nothing was in their way to TRS leaders. And they withdrew their support to the Congress. Later in 2006 TRS won in the Karimnagar Parliamentary constituency with greater margin. There was a pressure on Congress party to get separate state again in the year 2008. As there was no fruitful result all the members (MPs, MLAs) resigned and forced for the re-elections, and to surprise the result for totally against to them as they did not even win the majority of their resigned positions itself in the by-elections.

Later in the same year the major leader of Telugu Desam party, T Devendar Goud had resigned and therefore started a new party, 'Nava Telangana Praja Party'. And later the TDP again wrote the history once again by supporting the formation of Telangana.

2009 Movement – The latest burning issue in the state as well as Central Government of India.

In 2009 elections K.Chandrashekar Rao decided to join the Telugu Desam Party along with the left parties to form a 'Mahakutami' against Congress. N.Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of Telugu Desam Party promised to get a separate state if they come into power. But surprisingly Congress won with majority of seats with no support. To surprise the TRS party did not even win majority in the Telangana region where they fight today. The Congress once again made a government from both Andhra Pradesh state and Central.

The lead politician of Telangana Rastra Samithi Mr.K.Chandrashekar Rao started fast in the early of December. He was then turned out to jail and then the next day he resumed his fast. Then later he again started fast in the Hyderabad Nim’s hospital. He was on fast for 10+ days here with the utmost care of the doctors in intensive care unit. There were rumors that his liver is failed and he went into coma state and he wasn’t responding to anyone. TRS followers then started ruining the public property and also the private property. They rigorously started destroying the major malls in the city like Hyderabad Central, Big Bazaar (Ameerpet), and all other shops. They stopped RTC buses. Two buses were burnt in the KPHB colony main road. And if this kind of aggression is shown towards our own property what do we gain? End of the day we are at loss.

Here are few pictures of the destroyed complexes in Hyderabad.

Big Bazaar

After this serious issue the Home Minister Mrs.Sabhitha Indira Reddy declared 15 days as holidays for all the educational institutions in Telangana region except the for schools and medical institutions. The next day doctors declared that he is quite well and no problem with his health condition. The TRS leaders called for Telangana band for another two days, December 5th and 6th. The band went successfully but one thing to note down is majority of the Telangana region people itself are against to the separation of Andhra Pradesh.

Later on December 9th, 2009 when the health condition of K.Chandrashekar Rao was getting worse, the home minister of India Mr.P.Chidambaram had declared around 11:30 pm in the night that they are ready to discuss regarding the Telangana issue and invited Mr.K.Chandrashekar Rao. This decision was purely based on the Central Government. They did not consult any other party members and neither the Mr.Rosaih, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The next day this became a serious issue in Rayalaseema and Andhra MLAs. They were surprised to get such a result from the Central Government. This is an issue were the two-third majority should first support the separation and should pass a bill from the state government to the President. Then it should be dealt with the later government rules and policies. And the MLAs and MPs started resigning to their posts from Rayalaseema and Andhra region, showing their gratitude against to the decision made. The MLCs also resigned. The first set of people to resign was J.C.Deewakar Reddy, Yearasa Prathap Reddy (Athmakuru MLA), etc. The number of resignations reached to 140 till December 12. Chief minister K. Rosaiah has asked the ministers, all from the Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra regions, to hold on to their resignations till 2pm tomorrow, by when he has promised to tell them what the Congress high command had advised. In these resignations the opponent parties also supported and majority of them have resigned. This was a surprise factor that even members of Telugu Desam Party and Praja Rajyam Party (leaded by film star Mr.Chiranjeevi) resigned.

The Andhra and Rayalaseema ministers called for band last two days i.e., December 11th and 12th in many regions. They were successful in this band because the majority of the people supported and there no issues in regard of this. The Vijayawada MP Mr.Lagadapati Rajagopal has warned the central that they will also fast unto death if they do not re-decide on the separation of Telanagana. And many other official people in support to Lagapati Rajagopal have resigned and even started fast.

NDTV interviews K Chandrashekar Rao

K Chandrashekar Rao tells that Hyderabad has a mixture of people. Hyderabad protects all the people in its laps. The Andhra people also can stay here. If this is the case then why did he use this statement in the past?

"Telangana wala jago…Andhra wala bagho"

He says that 90% people in Hyderabad are Telangana people only so there is no issue of having a sharing capital. At the same time he claims that because of Andhra people who stays in Hyderabad many Telangana people are jobless no point of earnings and 35,000 people are shifted to Gulf countries. Andhra people are grabbing their opportunities. If this is the case then 2-3 lakhs Andhra people is ruining the 90 lakh people’s opportunity? Is the situation so? What does he want to prove?

Here is the Hyderabad region in Telangana region
Hyderabad in Telangana

If the 90% people are majority and they cannot face the competition? Where is the mistake?

Why do they actually need separate state? They say that Telangana is the most backward region then what about Rayalaseema?

If these small states are separated will they gain or loss? The divided states like Jarkhand, Uttarkhand, Chattisgarh are they showing tremendous progress after separation?

The people of Andhra point out that if one member fasts for just 10 days, being in hospital, the central government declares its approval. Then what if some other person does the same?

Is this a right decision taken by the government of India?

Conclusion

The Andhra and Rayalaseema MLAs and MPs do not want a separation and are protesting against this. And coming to majority of the people they do not want the separation. The situation is totally based on the Central Government's decision.

Let us all hope the decision will be made only in favor to the twelve crore people of Andhra Pradesh.
